The Victim Assistance Volunteer Program is currently accepting volunteer applications.

Please note that all volunteers are required to:


Volunteer Requirements

Undergo an application and interview process

➤

Pass a police background check

➤

Complete a minimum 18-hour training and orientation program

➤

Take an Oath of Confidentiality

➤

Attend monthly meetings (second Tuesday of each month Sept–June)

➤

Commit to a minimum of two four-hour shifts per month

➤

Respond to a call-out within 45 minutes

➤

Assist in fundraising and participate in annual events and workshops

Tracy Vrkljan has been a volunteer with the Victim Assistance Volunteer Program since 2007 and continues to serve as the program coordinator.

In 2023, Tracy was honoured with a Volunteer Halton Impact award for her outstanding commitment to the organization.

Responding to call-outs requires volunteers to have access to a vehicle during their shifts.
